The John Martin award for services to football for 2008/09 this year was presented to Brian Freeman, Brian has many years involvement in Youth football at all levels and John Martin would be very proud having Brian win the award this year. The presentation was made by Andrew Hailwood from the FA  The special award for referees were presented at the AGM in May at the KC Stadium. The trophies are won by referees who have the highest average marks at the end of the season providing they have completed a set number of games. All marks are awarded to referees by managers for performances on a game by game basis. The Senior Referee of the Year for 2008/9/ for the third year running was Dave Bade.

The Under 18s Award for Fairplay and all the other age groups was presented by Andrew Hailwood from the FA and recieving the Award for 2008/9 is Sculcoates, Along with the trophey each team recieves a voucher for sportswear.  Longhill Ravens Blues from the under 12 Kingston League see themselves as an improving side and whilst they lost 12 – 0 against top of the table Bridlington Rangers on 1st February, it is half the defeat they suffered earlier in the season. The under 14s HBSFL representatives team (pictured above) took on old friends Doncaster Junior League and their representative side at the 3g pitch on Inglemire Lane on Friday 7 November 2008 against. The game was a creditable 2 - 0 victory to the HBSFL refereed by David Bade.
